Help Get Kids to Camp with the American Lung Association

The American Lung Association's annual SCAMP Camp is a week-long overnight summer camp for kids age 8-14 with asthma. Hosted near San Diego in the rural town of Julian, the camp--which begins June 23, 2009--allows 200 SCAMPers the chance to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, archery, rock climbing and canoeing.

Although these children suffer from asthma, they are not slowed down by their disease because doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists are on-site in case of an emergency. SCAMPers also participate in daily asthma classes where they learn self-management skills, share their fears and improve self-confidence.
